Why 2^(p-1)(2^p-1) is a perfect Number ?

Its a well know fact that knowing a Mersenne Prime helps one find the Perfect Number. Now Mersenne Primes are of the form 2^p-1. If one multiplies a Mersenne prime with 2^{p-1} one gets 2^{p-1}(2^p-1) which is a Perfect Number. Recall a Perfect Number is one where sum of its divisors add up to twice the number itself.
